CCTRID Meeting

Colleagues,

 

Please mark your calendar for our first Fall meeting. We will meet on Thursday, September 1st at the Wally's Restaurant in East ridge- just off I-75.Wally's is a great local restaurant and has both menu items and buffet options for dinner. We have reserved some tables in the corner of the restaurant where we'll have the ability to enjoy some time over dinner catching up on things perhaps that we did this summer or new ventures this fall. I'll be sharing some information regarding upcoming workshops in the area.

 

One thing I'm most looking forward to is that one of our own- Bea Lyons is going to share some things with us regarding her perspective of how the world of interpreting has changed over the past 20+ years. She has graciously agreed to do this and I believe that perhaps it will give some us less-seasoned interpreters/consumers a new-found perspective or respect for our profession. For some, it may be more of a reminder of just how awesome our profession is.

 

None the less, make your plans to attend and enjoy a time of food and fellowship.

Welcome!

I'd like to welcome you to CCTRID's brand new website! Many thanks go to our fellow colleague- Daniel Eimers for revamping our site. It is even BETTER than I had anticipated. I'd also like to take this time to thank all those who have answered the brief questionnaire that I sent out a while back. Please know that we will consider every response as we move forward with the next steps of the CCTRID. We want to be sure that our local chapter is of most benefit to each of it's members. Please refer to this site and blog often, perhaps a weekly basis or so to be sure you don't miss any pertinent information.

Also, if you have something you'd like posted on our blog, please email it to me at jmjwalt@gmail.com and I'll review it for posting.
